Upon pressing the Submit button above the request will be submitted to EMI Music Publishing Scandinavia (EMI). EMI will shortly process the request. It is prohibited to use any EMI composition in any media production unless authorized by EMI and any related license fees have been paid. EMI can at this stage not guarantee that permission to use the composition will be granted. Such a decision will be made by EMI upon further investigation of the request.
* If you are planning to use a certain recording (made by a particular artist or band) of a composition please note that you need to obtain both the publishing synchronization rights as well as the master rights. Publishing synchronization rights allow you to use the words and music of the composition (contact publisher) and master rights allow you to use the recording (contact owner/record label of the particular recording you wish to use). The song (words and music) can in some cases be re-recorded for your project as long as the song has been previously recorded and released, and no substantial change in the music or lyrics is being made without permission from the publisher. If you are planning to re-record the composition you first need to confirm with EMI that such use is authorized by the songwriters.
EMI, as a publisher, can only grant you the publishing synchronization rights; except in the cases where we also control our own master recording of the song.
Please call or e-mail the Film, TV & Media Department if you need further information or help with the licensing procedure.
